Available Assistance
There are three categories of assistance available. MASBDA Board may limit the amount of funding available for each category.
- Immediate Needs Funding. This grant of $500 is available to Missouri farm families recovering from a natural disaster. The grant is designed to help those most devastated by the disaster meet their most urgent needs. The grant may be used for household or agricultural purposes and is available on a first come, first serve basis so long as funding for this purpose is available. The farm family must have been directly impacted by a natural disaster and have suffered physical losses to the farm home or livestock facility to the extent that the home or facility can no longer provide for the health and safety of the family and/or livestock. Please see Immediate Needs Fund Application and Guidelines for full eligibility and other information.
- Grants to Organizations. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to non-profit organizations, counties, municipalities, and other political subdivisions for infrastructure repair, clean up, or other projects that assist in recovery for the farm community. Please see Grants to Organizations Application and Guidelines for full eligibility and other information.
- Major Disaster Grants. Funding in amounts greater than $5,000 is available on a special needs basis. Generally Major Disaster Grants will not exceed $10,000 but the Board retains the right to make exceptions on the basis of need. Any individual or organization may apply for these grants, but organizations who can serve a large number of producers will be given priority. If grant requests exceed funding available under this category, the Board may award selectively based on merit and the number of people served. Please see Major Disaster Grants Application and Guidelines for full eligibility and other information.
